FAMILY CLASS PENNING FORMAT    (4 DIVISIONS IN ONE CLASS)

4 RIDE LIMIT

 

      2 GOES-Must pen to advance to second GO (no short)

                                   

Points are given based on total cattle and total time.

(In 2 GOES the total time available is 120 seconds (60 seconds per go).  Multiply total cattle (from both GOES-hopefully 6) by 120 seconds = 720 points.  Subtract actual total time (both GOES) which gives you your total points.

 

EXAMPLE:

·         Team 1 pens 3 head in 31.28 in the 1ST GO then in the 2nd GO pen 3 head in 25.86.  Total is 6 head in 57.14 .  Subtract 57.14 from 720.  Team 1 receives 662.86 points.

·         After both Goes team 1has the most points (662.28) and they place 1st in the 1st division

·         Subtract 25 points from 662.28 (637.86).  637.86 is the starting point for the 2nd division.  The team that is closest to 637.86 without going over is the winner of the 2nd division.

·         Subtract 25 points from 637.86(612.86).  612.86 is the starting point for the 3rd division.  The team that is closest to 612. 86 without going over is the winner of the 3rd division.

·         Subtract 25 points from 612.86 (587.86).  587.86 is the starting point for the 4th division.

·         The team that is the closest to 587.86 without going over is the winner of the 4th division.

 

PAYOUT SCHEDULE:

·         1-29 Teams pays 1 place per division

·         30-49 Teams pays 2 places per division

·         50-69 Teams pays 3 places per division

·         70-89 Teams pays 4 places per division

·         90-109 Teams pays 5 places per division

·         The 60% payout is divided equally into all 4 divisions*.*(Added money is put into the 1st division)

 

EXAMPLE:

·         If 1ST place pays $100.00 per rider, 1st place in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th division would all receive $100 per rider.*

·         If there are 100 teams, each division will pay 5 places (20% of entered teams will receive checks)

 

 

There are not ratings required.  Ride with whoever you like as many times (4 ride limit-no duplicate teams-change 1 partner) and your total points will decide the placing.

 

RULE CHANGES:

·         Time will be called when the 3rd cow enters the pen (do not need to raise hand)

·         Must raise hand if calling for time on less than 3 head

·         Above applies to this class only

 

This class is designed to let any level of rider compete together without penners having to make their team’s handicap add up to that divisions cap level.  Riders are encouraged to ride with family, friends and even their foes! Ranking simply does not matter and remember, just because you might have had a longer time, does not mean you won’t place in one of the other division.  Your combination of times that can place are multiplied each time you enter (each of your 4 teams could place in any one division).
